wacky olyimpics

Last week on Friday 19th the Senior syndicate had their "wackies"(Wacky Olympics) .The wacky Olympics are the vardon version of the Olympics there is 4 sports paper plate discus,straw javelin,wheel barrow races and the coin toss (I got through to the coin toss and with Niall the wheelbarrow races .Room 14 were supporting Swaziland with flags and singing "Swaziland dab,dab,dab ".We had a torch relay in the opining ceremony .We got 2 medals 1 gold (Niketa-paper plate discus)bronze(Adam-coin toss)

1. For my clay work I've been making a star that says reach

3.when I have been working with the clay was that it is squshy so it is fun to play with

Museum Visit

A couple of weeks ago we went to the museum so that we could study Zena Elliott .

When we were there, we saw the pou, some of her painting.

also when we were there we also saw the waka .

when I was there I learnt about the paintings she makes is from what she grew up with. she made her art with a lot of lines and Maori patterns 
my favourite part was when we saw the room with all the moths

This term we have been studying famous artists.

she does all of her art work about nature

1 The process to make our Flox Art was Mrs Gunn printed out a stencil bird for every one to use then if we wanted to we could paint the background colour  and got sponges to do the texture over the stencil.

2 The easiest part when doing our Flox Art  was the sponging because all you had to do was dab the sponge with the paint onto the paper .

3 I found the cutting out hardest because you had to follow the lines carefully .

4 In the end I liked the birds because they were vibrant.

5 If I was to do Flox Art again next time I would use different colours , birds or plants.

term 3 reflection this term we have had many activities to join into like ,cross country,speeches,production and much more. On speeches II did mine on Richid hugh McCaw. Miss Woolf loved them especially ricos which was on his trip to england which she had gust been to on a trip . production was awesome I was in the maori group.I lead the haka. I also liked the indian wedding ,uk irish dancing , european toll story well mostly all of them . Most of the time I loved it . this term was a blast I can not wait until next term another adventure awats us so long ,see you next term . by adam

Camp

My favourite camp activity was abseiling  I had an adrenalin rush I thought I WAS GOING TO DIE because I thought the ropes weren't that strong, but in the end it was worth it.  This was the biggest achievement in my life!

Vardon school just had athletics day so I write some pat tin poems.

Vardon school gala

On the 8th of November it was Vardon school's gala .Room 8 had a fishing stall. Guess how tall Wanda is, go fishing and guess how many fish are in the bowl .We got sponsored by Donovan chocolates,Whittaker's, hunting and fishing ,Paradise Valley Springs, Pak'n save and Rainbow Springs,

       

Hydroslide Treat

In room 8 we went swimming at Te  Tapa Waterworld. On the first day we had to meet our 3 instructors and show them how good we were at swimming. Then we got free time. Over the next 3 days we practised breast stroke, sculling, free-style and backstroke. On Friday  we had to do 8 lengths of the pool without putting our feet down. It was very tiring. After we got a choice of  free time or going on the hydroslide !! What do you think I picked . Obviously I picked the hydroslide. I went on the python run. It was freaky going on it .

Cross Country

I love running . I am the fastest in my class. All up this term I have done approximzately 34 laps of the field. I hope I come in the top 3 on the day. My strategy is to stay behind the lead runners until the last 100 metres and then I will sprint as hard as I can.

In room8  we have been creating wild animals. Do you like my creature with bat wings, my gorilla arms and my cobra hood. Don't approach me, I'm dangerous. Most of my species are already dead.
